FarmERP Highlights

Streamlined farm to fork supply chain of residue free fresh vegetables and fruits with FarmERP

The client owns farm to fork vegetable supply business. It deals in farm to door step delivery of fresh farm produce like vegetables and fruits round the year. This company sows and grows residue free produce and maintains on-time delivery to retailers and end customers.

It specializes in meeting the stringent pesticide residue standards on its crops to ensure highest level of Food safety

Client produces multiple vegetable and fruit crops and varieties. In order to control pests and diseases timely agrochemical sprays are conducted. As the company ensures residue free produce, managing safe harvests were a real challenge. With complex activities across multiple plots of land, managing the harvest and boosting crop-wise productivity was a challenge. It was difficult to monitor farm produce performance against expected targets.

From sales planning to production planning, the management needed visibility and control to cope with the growing demand. They also wanted to reduce cost overheads for overall supply management so as to maintain competitive advantage and improve profitability.

It also faced difficulties in carrying out daily crop market price analysis and fixing a sales price for a particular product. Managing inventories over various stores and retail shops was one more challenge.

FarmERP experts analysed the entire business processes from farm to table. This helped us to frame a step by step approach to close the gaps.

The first step was to establish centralized control over inventory management across farms, stores and retail shops.

Second step was to enable marketing team to create seasonal, monthly and weekly Sales plan. This plan can then be forwarded to production team for scheduled sowing and harvests. This focus was to systematize delivery of produce to retail market and home deliveries.

In FarmERP, production planning and execution are the key features. Based on the sales plan, production planning and budgeting is done which helps to meet customer requirements as well as advanced sales planning for surplus production. This helps in minimizing waste, optimizing productivity, maximize output, and increasing the number of satisfied customers

Next step was to streamline safe and residue free harvests. Agrochemical spray records are closely followed to help Production Manager to get timely alerts for the plots and crops which are safe for residue free harvests. This helped the client to acquire Residue Free Produce certification, which helped in product branding.

An accounts module was implemented to record all the financial transactions across all the locations. It helps to track the inventory purchase and sales for each customer. The FarmERP module helped users to monitor the payments and receipts for suppliers and customers thus keeping a firm control on overall finances. It also supported the users to track the sales to arrive at top profit making products for company. A general ledger helped keeping track transaction details.

FarmERP helped the supply chain operators to track product shortage, packing losses and rejections of the products. Thorough operational training helped us to successfully implement FarmERP in eight working weeks.

FarmERP seamlessly integrated CRM functionalities with the supply chain management system. It delivered the following advantages to the client’s ‘Farm to Fork’ business methodology
