We worked with a Fresh Produce start-up company in Bangalore with a focus on sourcing Fresh Produce directly from the farmers with no intermediaries. Their endeavour is to ensure the traceability of the farmer, his practices on the crops so that various interventions are possible on making the final produce of better quality & safe for the consumers.

Challenge

  • Checking and calculating of all collected produce from 300 vendors daily, was done physically.
  • This took up a lot of time as well as manpower. There was no access to real-time product-wise stock availability.
  • Produce wastage was another problem. The client found it very difficult to manually keep track of the expiry dates of all the produce and hence, a lot of their produce went to waste on a daily basis.
  • The only software used by the client was for accounting. No other software or platform was used for stock, vendor, labour management or even for their daily business operations. This hindered their progress and limited their potential.
